Mourners said goodbye Tuesday, October 27, 2009 to the 7-year-old little young girl of Florida who was reportedly abducted in Florida and whose body found in Georgia landfill as she vanished last week, and mourners honored her beloved color by releasing hundreds of purple balloons, according to Associated Press.
Sommer Thompson’s family wore a purple ribbon in their clothes while her casket’s was decorated with purple flowers filled with floral displays. Her mass was celebrated at Orange Park, in the First Baptist Church.
David Tarkington called Sommer Thompson as “a community hugger” who hugged the crossing guards on her way to school each day.
"Sommer was able to love greatly. She was also greatly loved," Tarkington said.Sommer Thompson was vanished on her way to home from school last week together with her twin brother, friends, and her older sister and her body was found in Georgia landfill two days later.
