Rupert Grint Calls Emma Watson Kiss in 'Deathly Hallows: Part II' Small Moment
Posted by org at 7:25 AM
Rupert Grint believes fans might be left underwhelmed by his on-screen kiss with co-star Emma Watson in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II". In a recent interview with The Observer, the 22-year-old actor described the long-awaited kiss between Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as a "small, small moment."
"Yeah, that's going to be a bit of an anticlimax," said the actor who plays Tony in "Wild Target" further. Since he and Emma are close friends and knew the kiss scene would eventually arrive, he admitted, "It can be hard to keep up the energy," when asked about the long build-up to that one moment.
This is not the first time Rupert discussed about the kiss he shared with Emma for "Deathly Hallows". A few weeks ago, he told Attitude magazine that kissing "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" actress "seemed like the most unnatural thing to do," pointing out further, "to kiss this person I'd known since she was nine."
"It took a while to get into it and put our friendship aside. It's quite full-on, a proper snog. We're soaking wet as well, they dumped gallons of water on us and then we just went for it," he continued. "We laughed a lot and it took us a while to concentrate. We did it about four times. It's a nice moment for the characters but she's like a sister to me. We're all really close friends, so it was very strange doing that."
As for his interview with The Observer, Rupert also dished on how he felt on the last day of filming for the final installment of the "Harry Potter" series. While he didn't expect to shed any tears, he confessed that he too was overwhelmed by his emotion. "It was when I saw Dan crying... then it really hit me," he recalled. "I'd never seen him that upset. It was just really, really raw."
"Deathly Hallows: Part II" marks the epic war between the wizarding community and Voldemort's Deathly Eaters. During the journey to finish He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, Harry is the one who should make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with the Dark Lord. Rated PG-13, it will open wide in theaters across the United States on July 15.
