J.Crew is offering the cutest satchels from The Cambridge Satchel Company, unfortunately they are in flourescent colors. Good for finding your kid in the crowd after school, but not so good for parents want something a little more traditional. Luckily you can purchase a wider selection of colors directly from the British company.
The leather bags are handmade, and range in size from 11 to 15 inches. In addition to a multitude of color options you have a choice of strap styles.You can choose between backpack straps or a shoulder straps. I would go with backpack straps. The look just screams British public (private)school. They are also nice for mommy and daddy.
These bags are built to last. Just be aware of the fact that since each bag is bespoke it can take up to a month to receive your order.
