"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" is edging to its end this summer. In this last installment of the wizard-themed movie series, Neville Longbottom will play a big role as Matthew Lewis gushed that his character is "the leader in this film."
"There's some nice moments where [Professor] McGonagall is handing out instructions, and Neville's got a job to do," so the actor, who portrays dimwitted Neville, said during a recent interview with Hero Complex. "He takes his band of troops, and they go."
"There are a couple of moments in the room of requirement with the rest of Dumbledore's Army, where we really see Neville as this resistance leader," he went on. "This on-the-ground leader who's instructing the students what to do, where to go. He's like a beaten, battered war veteran in this one."
As written on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" novel, Neville Longbottom holds an important role during the battle at Hogwarts by using his knowledge of Herbology to help ward off the attackers. Meanwhile, Harry, Ron and Hermione, continue their journey to find and destroy Horcrux in order to defeat Voldemort.
Matthew Lewis' co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson reprise their roles as Harry, Ron and Hermione respectively. Ralph Fiennes also returns to the David Yates-helmed film to portray the Dark Lord. The film itself will open in U.S. cinemas on July 15.
